- Finish the following story in two hand-written pages:
- The 12 a.m. chill set into my bones. I was on a mission, running a well-crafted strategy through my mind again and again. As I visualized my path I’ll take into battle, the action drew nearer. Blowing warm air into my hands, I tried to stay loose. It was a last-ditch effort to stave off my emotional and physical states: excitement, feat, adrenaline, fatigue. It was the time for singular focus.
- It was Black Friday.
- The line I was standing in for the last two-and-a-half hours was starting to morph from orderly to insanity as everyone made a break to the just-opened doors. Whether I would be able to be one of the few to snag a door-buster deal remained doubtful. It was every shopper for himself. This was war.
- Pushing and shoving my way into the store, I wasn't aware that I had become another irrational American who had lost his/her mind at the thought of picking up electronics at big discounts on the day after Thanksgiving. Perhaps the lack of sleep and the adrenaline rush from fighting crowds had something to do with it.
- Then I saw it. There was one left. And I was determined that it would be mine. With my eyes on the prize, I pushed my way through the frenzying mob like a running back through a defensive line. Then I saw him/her: a _______________.
